Gurupada Chitrakar has performed in the US, UK, Spain, Italy and all over India to much acclaim. He is also the recipient of the prestigious National Award from the Government of India.  In addition to his traditional work, Gurupada has recently been invited to interpret stories from the Panchatantra on patachitra by the Crafts Council, New Delhi. An exhibition took place in February 2014 at the India International Centre. This is a new theme that has been added to the repertoire of the patuas.
