The eminent Raibneshe artist Shadhin Bittar was only 62 when he died of a stroke in 2015. Shadhin had single-handedly carried forward the legacy of his father, Sudhir Bittar who had started the Kanturhat Lok Nrittya  group  more than half a century ago. It was thanks to him that the name Kanturhat became almost synonymous with the Raibneshe martial art form.
